Sang Hyeon Kang is an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Entrepreneurial Engineering and Engineering Management at Western Michigan University. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Industrial Manufacturing and Systems Engineering at Iowa State University in 2024. His research interests include spine biomechanics, ergonomic intervention effectiveness research, biomechanical modeling and physical-cognitive interaction. He has been involved in both basic science and applied research, from physiology/biomechanics of the human body to the evaluation/development of engineering solutions. He has ten publications in the refereed, archival journal literature. He has worked on five sponsored projects, including projects in the office workstations, the last-mile service industry, and the home appliance manufacturing industry. He has served as a reviewer in the CDC/NIOSH Heartland Center for Occupational Health & Safety and has served as a reviewer of The British Medical Journal, Ergonomics, and the International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics.
