Dr. Ying Thaviphoke is an assistant professor of engineering management at Western Michigan University. He earned his Ph.D. in engineering management and systems engineering from Old Dominion University, where he also received a Master of Engineering Management degree. After receiving his B.S. in civil cngineering from Chiang Mai University, Thailand, he gained industry experience from multiple construction projects. His research focuses on obtaining a consensus among stakeholders and a holistic systems analysis through problem structuring lens. This includes the intersection between engineering management and operations research areas. His work has been featured in Journal of the Operational Research Society and International Journal of System of Systems Engineering. Before joining the faculty at Western Michigan University, he taught in Virginia and Texas.
