Meeting set for WMU softball walk-on tryouts

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University softball will hold a mandatory meeting regarding walk-on tryouts for the 2014-15 school year at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, on the third floor of the Seelye Athletic Center. All candidates for a WMU varsity athletic team must be a current, full-time students at the University.

Tryouts will be Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12-13, at Ebert Field. The time will be announced at the mandatory meeting.

Items to bring

  • A current class schedule to show full-time student status.
  • Photo identification.
  • Proof of insurance.
  • A current physical, including sickle cell test from a physician.

A PDF of the required physical form, as well as insurance form, can be downloaded from wmubroncos.com. No form is necessary for the sickle cell test. A copy of the results should be turned in with the physical and proof of insurance. The physicals and sickle cell tests may be done on campus at the Sindecuse Health Center or by a family physician.
