Pianist May Phang to perform in free recital

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Pianist May Phang will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall at Western Michigan University.

The recital is open to the public free of charge and will include works by Mozart, Chopin and Curt Cacioppo.

Phang is a piano professor at DePauw University, and maintains a busy performing schedule in addition to her teaching.

Nonprofit organization Young Audiences of Indiana describes her playing as "fluid and masterful" and Classical New Jersey says it's "magnificent … with a mix of sensitivity and bravura."

Phang is the third guest in the WMU School of Music's Piano Masters series.
