Registration open for Turkey Trot 5K run, walk

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University will hold its annual Turkey Trot 5K run and walk at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Student Recreation Center.

The event, which is open to the public, winds through the WMU campus and is the oldest race in southwest Michigan.

Packet pickup and late registration will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, and 7 to 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, in the Student Recreation Center's indoor tennis courts.

Participants will receive a long-sleeve race T-shirt, with the size guaranteed for those who register prior to race day. A new feature this year is a finisher medal for participants.

The cost is $22 for those who pre-register and $30 for those who register Nov. 17-18. The pre-registration deadline is noon Monday, Nov. 13, if registering in person at the Student Recreation Center's intramural office. Mail-in pre-registrations must be postmarked by Nov. 13, and online registration ends at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16.
