Presented by Columbia University, the Pulitzer Prize is an annual prize awarded for excellence in fields including journalism, photojournalism, fiction and nonfiction books, drama, poetry and music, and it is primarily awarded to U.S. citizens and U.S.-based publications. It is widely considered to be one of the most prestigious honors in these fields.

The recipients for 2022 Excellence in Diversity Award are Dr. Staci Perryman-Clark, the WMU Athletics Diversity Task Force and the Professional Development Institute. “The purpose of these awards is to acknowledge and honor our colleagues who are moving the needle forward in diversity, inclusion and equality,” said Dr. Candy McCorkle, vice president for diversity and inclusion.
