WMU launches its 2026 United Way Campaign to give back to the community
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Every fall, the Bronco community comes together to support the places we live, work and learn. On Oct. 12, Western Michigan University launched its 2026 United Way Campaign, continuing a tradition of collective giving and community impact.
“Western Michigan University is excited to kick off its 2026 United Way Campaign and continue its long-standing partnership that connects individuals and families at WMU and across our region with important resources that promote health, youth opportunity and financial stability,” says WMU President Russ Kavalhuna.
Members of the University community are invited to participate in this year’s campaign and make a local impact by giving to programs and services that strengthen communities across South Central Michigan.
Information about giving options, including one-time contributions and payroll deduction for eligible employees, is available on the campaign webpage.
Eligible donors will be entered into prize drawings following the campaign, which concludes Monday, Nov. 9. Details about prizes and eligibility are available on the campaign webpage.
Community impact
WMU partners with the United Way of South Central Michigan, which was formed in 2022 through a merger of regional United Way organizations. From April 2025 through March 2026, the United Way of South Central Michigan generated more than $25 million in local and regional impact.
Through investments in local programs and services, the organization supports efforts to improve educational outcomes, expand access to health resources, and strengthen financial stability for individuals and families throughout the region.
