Estimates are submitted to financial aid by December 1 each year for entering students and May 1 for returning students.
Awards are deposited each semester by the tuition due date.
Awards are audited each semester on Census Day, which is after drop/add.
Drawbacks will occur if a student no longer satisfies the eligibility criteria as of the census date.
Notification to students
Paper Technology Foundation will continuously communicate with scholarship recipients throughout the calendar year by means of WMU email. It is critical that WMU email be regularly monitored.
Paper Technology Foundation will send notice of deadlines for scholarship applications, industry-supported conferences and field trips, activity requirements, scholarship award information, and much more. Please check and respond to your WMU email daily.
Western Michigan University scholarships will be awarded according to the following schedule provided that the student satisfies the eligibility and activity requirements:

Transfer students who qualify will receive an award based upon GPA and class level according to the performance awards schedule after the first semester introductory award.
All paper engineering majors are eligible to receive the Paper Technology Foundation performance-based scholarship awards for a total of nine semesters provided that the eligibility and activity requirements are satisfied.

ALL UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
Registered as a pre-paper or paper engineering major.
Paper Technology Foundation scholarships are awarded on a funds-available basis for U.S. and Canadian citizens only.
Registered as a full-time student at Western Michigan University (at least 12 credit hours during fall or spring semester; at least six credit hours during summer I or II session).
Registered for at least one paper course (three credit hours; as required by the program curriculum) during the semester in which a scholarship is awarded.
Continuing students
A minimum overall GPA of 2.7 is required.
New students
A minimum SAT composite score of 1200 or a minimum ACT composite score of 25.
In the absence of reported test scores, AP and IB scores, and Dual Enrollment will be considered on a case by case basis
