As part of ongoing employee engagement efforts and in response to faculty and staff feedback, the President's Cabinet will launch a new program called Onward for the Brown and Gold in January. Presented by vice presidents and other senior leaders, these sessions will explore a range of topics that unpack University operations, the factors that shape decision-making and initiatives advancing Western's core mission. A spring semester session is set for Thursday, Jan. 16, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the WMU Student Center ballroom. Titled Empowering Futures: Empowering Distinction, Student Success and Equitable Outcomes, the session will highlight how the Empowering Futures Gift is driving the creation and expansion of student support resources and systems, resulting in improved retention and graduation rates as well as gains in other student success metrics. These efforts are also enhancing Western’s distinctiveness and advancing our North Star, experience-driven learning. Release time will be provided so employees can attend the session. Light refreshments will be served after the formal part of the program ends.
