Curriculum pre-approval by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board

The following information is for Western Michigan University students and alumni who are preparing an application for the BCBA exam within the Department of Psychology.

Fifteen WMU courses have been pre-approved by the Behavior Analysis Certification Board. If you would like to include any of these courses on your application for the BCBA exam, check the "Pre-approved?" box for each course on the Course Content Verification Form. Pre-approval eliminates the need to submit a course syllabus, catalog description, etc. to verify course content.

Make sure that you use the content hours specified on your verification form, as these have been pre-approved by the BACB. You may, of course, include in your application WMU courses that are not on this list; however you will need to submit written documentation to verify the content of each of those courses. These courses are the Approved Course Sequence that meets the 4th Edition Task List requirements for the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Completion of these courses and the required supervised field experience is needed to qualified to sit for the exam.  This does not guarantee that they will be certified, only that they will be able to sit for the exam.
