Susan Rood

Susan Rood is a Clinical Social Worker. Susan received her Master’s degree in social work from The Ohio State University. Susan has over 20 years’ experience working with children, adolescences, adults and families in both outpatient and in-home settings.

Susan’s clinical interests include working with children and families. She specializes in areas of anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, impulsive behaviors, grief and loss, abuse/neglect and foster care. Susan uses a variety of evidence-based strategies TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, and crisis intervention/safety planning. Susan creates a safe environment for both children and adults to gain a sense of safety and security to explore difficulties in therapy.

When outside of work, Susan enjoys spending time with friends and family. Susan enjoys traveling both in and outside of Michigan, fishing, and time by any of the wonderful lakes in Michigan.
