Finding Gold in the Robert S. Kaiser Sales, Negotiation and Leadership Lab
Success—it is what defines the sales and business marketing program at Western Michigan University.
Ranked #1 for “Top U.S. Sales Schools” by Study.com and recognized since 2007 as one of the “Top University Sales Programs” by the Sales Education Foundation, our program defines sales excellence.
Our reputation has drawn students and employers to the program since its inception in 1999, and over the past 18 years, we have grown from 49 majors to 320, necessitating an upgrade to our sales lab facilities.
We invite you to be part of the tradition and future of sales success at Western.
This new sales lab will prepare students to become the best sales professionals in the country.
A team of two Western Michigan University sales students competed in the State Farm Marketing and Sales Competition in Warrensburg, Missouri, on Nov. 2, with one student taking top honors in the sales role-play category.
WMU sales students placed first in the Thomson Reuters Sales Competition, where top sales students from the region competed. Students assumed roles as inside sales representatives selling a custom website service and placed first in team and individual standings.
A major gift by alumnus Robert Kaiser, owner and CEO of Gallagher-Kaiser Corporation, has transformed the sales lab at Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business. A grand opening ceremony and open house will be held on Friday, Nov. 2, to celebrate the official opening of the facility.
With a 100 percent placement rate, our program is more in demand than ever before, and our students continue to demonstrate why they are the best.

“Being taught and coached by Dr. Eckert, Dr. O’Reilly, and Dr. Newell was the best thing that ever happened to me. When I transferred to Western as a junior, I immediately felt behind everyone else. I started looking into extracurricular activities to join, and some friends told me about the Sales and Business Marketing Association. After attending, I began to learn what a sales major really meant. Shortly after, I changed my major to sales and business marketing and never looked back. I am forever grateful for SBMA and this lab!” Greta Lorr, B.B.A.’13, Sales and Business Marketing Analytics Account Manager, IBM
