Small businesses took the brunt of it all as many had to shut down due to the virus. According to data in September 60% of business closures are now permanent since the outbreak started (Sundaram, 2012).

So kind of being the liaison between the business side and the basketball side, allowing them to have all the resources and opportunities they need to run a successful basketball team and hopefully win a lot of games. What does a day at work look like for you? Essentially I provide the resources to our staff to allow them to complete their jobs and tasks. I wouldn't say every day, but most days I try to ask myself a question of how can I assist our staff and let them have the best day possible.

“Down the line we know there will be some transitions, trying to frame certain programs as not geography or environment, but something else in the spirit of both programs, so I see that as an advantage,” says Ofori-Amoah. The school plans to revive a community and regional planning program that had been put on hold due to low enrollment despite an outstanding job market for graduates, as well as to investigate how they might combine existing environmental studies and environmental geography programs to create unique environmental- and sustainability-related programs.

Growing up around his family's farm in Sandusky, Michigan, which dates back five generations, he's also had plenty of opportunity to learn how machines work and how to fix them.

In his retirement he became interested in vintage Porches. As a member of the Porsche Club of Michigan he restored 3 of his own. Farming the 120 acre Wennning centennial homestead was his weekend job. He restored old tractors and always enjoyed antique farm shows. He was a 4H leader and involved with his children in farm animals and agriculture. One of his greatest passions was flying.

LZ Granderson returns to WMU to inspire next generation of journalists

When Granderson told his boss he planned to pursue graduate school, and his boss countered with the opportunity to become assistant manager, he thought, “that sounds awful,” and enrolled at Grand Valley State University to study higher education administration. Through the recommendation of a GVSU advisor, Granderson took a job as the higher education reporter at the Grand Rapids Press and got his first real taste of national politics during the Bush vs. Gore election in 2000.
