Jessica Rocha-Garcia Jessica Rocha-Garcia (she/her/hers) Coordinator of Student Services, CAMP Harmony, Empathy, Restorative, Responsibility, Discipline Jessica Rocha-Garcia What I do at WMU: I provide academic guidance and social and emotional support to all students in the CAMP program. My job is to coach students to make the best of their first year at WMU, so I find ways to help cultivate a sense of community and belonging to the scholars.

One particularly impactful interaction involved a factory worker who was HIV-positive. "I was going with her to all of her appointments and witnessing all of the health disparity. She was not able to find a job in Egypt because everyone was scared. That was really the time I passionately wanted to become a medical doctor." HOPE FOR THE FUTURE Idris came to the United States intent on expanding his scientific knowledge in order to continue on the path to a career in medicine.
