General summary
Oversees a comprehensive full-service behavioral health clinic, integrating clinical oversight with robust business operations leadership.
Major duties
- Leads and supervises clinical staff, including hiring, performance evaluation, training and professional development.
- Provides strategic leadership for clinical and business operations, and serves as a liaison between clinic, patients, families, community partners and other University leadership.
- Develops, implements and monitors business strategies to create clinic growth, operational efficiencies and financial stability.
- Coordinates the clinical budget with other responsible team members.
- Coordinates and optimizes billing, coding, and insurance verification to maximize clinic revenue and compliance.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory, accreditation and legal requirements, maintaining policies and procedures for clinical operations.
- Collaborates with executive leadership to develop goals, new programs, and pursue funding opportunities.
- Manages relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinates optimization of electronic health records.
- Maintains a clinical caseload, providing evidence-based assessments and treatment with individuals with substance use and mental health disorders.
Minimum qualifications

Required education
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in a related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Experience in clinical and business operations in a healthcare or behavioral health setting.
- Experience in evidence-based therapeutic approaches for substance use and mental health.
- Experience in leadership, organizational and financial management skills.
- Experience in ethical, cultural competence and patient-centered care.
Required other
- Current, unrestricted and full licensure as a Psychologist in the State of Michigan.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
