The program doesn’t just teach us about selling—it teaches us how to sell. Before graduation, I had already accepted a job with Insight Global, a staffing company in Grand Rapids. I will start as a recruiter and make my way toward a position in account and sales management.

During his senior year, Shafer entertained multiple job offers and is working hard at mapping out his future plans. And what still drives his decisions is the passion he has for personal financial planning.

During her time at WMU, she has held internship positions with PNC Bank and Whirlpool Corporation’s global strategic sourcing team. Her honors thesis, Knowledge Gap: Supply Chain Students and Employers, aims to identify the gaps between students’ preparedness in critical job skills based on employers’ expectations for new hires. Prior to graduation, she will participate in a short-term study abroad program in Thailand. She is the director of case competitions for the WMU chapter of APICS, a supply chain professional organization.

Some of the things I am most proud of include: Working as the marketing manager of TEDx Kalamazoo. TEDx prepared me to work with professionals and to be comfortable even as the youngest person on the team. My job was to engage the local community in face-to-face interactions to get people excited about TEDx Kalamazoo. Starting an annual charity art auction with MRC artWorks in collaboration with Lambda Chi Alpha.
