Due to these commitments, Thelen’s schedule is packed, with little room for much else. However, he has been dedicated to his future career by having a few different jobs related to his field. He has held positions at Perrigo, Padagis and most recently at Sandy Pines Recreational Community as a finance intern. Balancing his academic and athletic life proves a challenge, but one he enjoys.

—Piecing together the puzzle of electrical circuits is what enticed Western Michigan University senior Tessa Biondo to pursue her bachelor’s and accelerated master’s degree in electrical engineering at WMU. Through connecting with professors, maintaining a full-time job and focusing on her studies, she has continued to explore the abundant opportunities at Western and in her field. “What excites me the most is the versatility of electrical engineering,” says Biondo.
