Spring Conference on Wind and Percussion Music

Nicole Piunno will be the featured composer at the 56th Annual Spring Conference on Wind and Percussion Music, held on the campus of Western Michigan University on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Piunno will work with both the University Wind Symphony and the Nicole Piunno All-Star Band prior to their conference-closing concert at 7:30p.m. in Miller Auditorium.  

The day-long Spring Conference event will include performances and master classes by WMU faculty and student soloists and ensembles. Also featured will be afternoon performances by the following high school bands:

• 1:00 p.m. Huron Valley Wind Ensemble – Robert Green, Conductor
• 2:45 p.m. L’Anse Creuse High School Wind Symphony – Ryan Malburg and Walter McCray, Conductors
