It's time to visit WMU!

We invite you to join us in Kalamazoo for a student-led, in-person tour on our wonderful campus. Various options are available daily.

In-person experiences

You and your family are invited to visit and experience Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Join one of our student-guided walking tours, attend an information session and learn more about the possibilities and opportunities awaiting you at WMU. Review our campus visit choices below to find an option that best suits you. 

  • Morning Main Campus Tour and Academic Spotlight

    Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. ET

    Your campus visit will include a 30-minute admissions presentation, a 75-minute main campus walking tour, and an introduction to your prospective academic college.* If you are unsure which academic college your intended major is housed, review our list of majors and academic colleges. Some academic spotlights have limited capacity; registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Note: The College of Education and Human Development is not available on Wednesdays.

    *If you plan to attend an in-person campus tour of the College of Aviation, please first register for a virtual information session

  • Morning Main Campus Tour

    Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. ET

    Your campus visit will include a 30-minute admissions presentation and a 75-minute main campus walking tour from a current Bronco. If your major falls into one of the colleges below, you have the opportunity of connecting with them after your walking tour. Some academic spotlights have limited capacity; registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you are unsure which academic college your intended major is housed, review our list of majors and academic colleges

    • 11:15 a.m. Haworth College of Business, College of Fine Arts
    • 11:45 a.m. College of Health and Human Services
    • 12:30 p.m. College of Engineering and Applied Sciences
    • 1:30 p.m. College of Aviation*

    *If you plan to attend an in-person campus tour of the College of Aviation, please first register for a virtual information session

  • Afternoon Main Campus Tour

    Weekdays at 1:30 p.m. ET

    Your campus visit will include a 30-minute admissions presentation and a 75-minute main campus walking tour from a current Bronco. 

  • Saturday Main Campus Tour

    Select Saturdays at 10 a.m. ET

    Your campus visit will include a 30-minute admissions presentation and a 75-minute main campus walking tour from a current Bronco. If your major is within the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences or the College of Aviation, there are opportunities to visit those locations after your main campus tour. There is limited capacity; registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis.

    • 1 p.m. College of Engineering and Applied Sciences
    • 1:30 p.m. College of Aviation*

Before your visit

All visitors are required to register for a tour in advance. We regret that we will not be able to accommodate walk-in visitors.

Due to our local community’s recent uptick in infections, all students, faculty, staff and visitors—regardless of vaccination status—are required to wear a mask in campus buildings and other WMU facilities, effective August 4, 2021. Please review WMU’s Facial Covering (Mask) Policy for specific details. After registering for the tour, you will receive specific information about campus arrival and check-in location via email. Our campus Visitor Guidelines can also be viewed online.

The app can be used both on-campus or remotely from the comfort of your own home. If you choose to come to campus, the app will connect to GPS and give you turn-by-turn directions. Virtual experiences: Academic colleges

Experience a virtual information session with live Q&A with a representative from WMU's academic colleges. Learn more about how the college and its programs create an academic experience to prepare successful graduates. Sessions days, dates and times vary by college. All sessions follow Eastern Time. Admitted students, prospective students and families are encouraged to attend. Please check back as more sessions will be added. If you have an academic area of interest, but you're not sure what academic college it falls within, view our major list. Please note that sessions and Q&A are tailored to prospective undergraduate students.
