WMU Dual Enrollment Academic Contract

The goal of this academic contract is to inform Western Michigan University dual enrollment students of academic policies that will build college readiness skills and foster academic success. Additional academic standards can be found at https://wmich.edu/registrar/policies/standards.

First year students must achieve a C or better in their first semester course.
Failure to achieve a C or better in their first dual enrolled course will result in dismissal from the program.

Any student with the standing of Academic Warning will be placed on an academic plan at the start of a semester.
The students will work with the Early College Programs team to maintain a consistent academic plan. Students must show improvement in the semester immediately following being placed on Academic Warning.  

  • Students who do not meet the goals on their academic plan will be required to meet with the Early College Programs team to discuss the best course of action for them.
    • Students who choose to withdraw after the University's drop/add deadline will receive a W on their academic transcripts.
    • Student initiated withdrawals after drop/add but prior to the University's final withdraw deadline may be subject to a financial penalty.

  • Any student who does not achieve a grade of C or better the semester immediately following being placed on Academic Warning will be dismissed from the program.

Any student with the standing of Academic Probation by the University will result in dismissal from the program.
Students with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or lower who do not show semester improvement will be placed on academic probation as per the University guidelines. Students on academic probation will be dismissed from the program.
