Hosted by WMU Chemistry Club
The clothing and fashion industry's environmental impact is sometimes overlooked, but its effect is significant. The production of new clothing requires hundreds of gallons of water and tremendous amounts of energy, resulting in large carbon emissions. Upcycling can combat these effects by empowering individuals to reuse and repurpose old or worn-out clothing. In this event, participants are invited to bring an old sweater or shirt that we will use to make two drink koozies. We will also have information about alternative clothing manufacturers that prioritize the climate over speed of production.
