The Climate Crisis and Many Ways of Knowing: Visit to Roots of Wisdom Exhibit

Posted by Isabelle Topor for Climate Change Working Group

Interactive Exhibit at the Kalamazoo Nature Center

Does the convergence of scientific knowledge and indigenous wisdom offer pathways for addressing complex solutions necessary in facing the climate crisis?  The Roots of Wisdom interactive exhibition explores ecological challenges and the solutions that are informed by native knowledge, practices, and traditions. Real-life stories are presented through the voices of four indigenous communities, giving visitors insight into how traditional knowledge and Western science can be unified to improve our relationship with the natural world.  Join us to learn from these stories and reflect on how they offer a path forward.
