Global Business Center Scholarships

We believe every student should be able to experience the transformative power of studying abroad. Our scholarships are intended to make international education accessible and affordable, enabling you to immerse yourself in new cultures, gain valuable global insights, and build your international network. Business majors who go on a study abroad trip offered through the Global Business Center qualify for the Haworth College of Business Study Abroad Scholarship.

Available for both undergraduate and graduate students, Western scholarships are based on academic record and financial need. Learn more about the University’s study abroad scholarships. Business study abroad scholarships

  • Must be a B.B.A., MBA, M.S.A. or M.S.F. student attending either a short-term, faculty-led or a semester-long study abroad program offered through the Global Business Center.
  • No application.
  • Automatically awarded to students who meet the above requirements.
  • WMU students who have applied to a study abroad or a virtual study abroad program through Broncos Abroad.
  • WMU students are not required to submit a separate application for this scholarship. The WMU Study Abroad program application is used as their application for this scholarship.
  • Good academic standing.
  • Financial need.
  • Award amount is $500 to $1,250.

  • Full-time undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Accountancy major.
  • 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • Interest in accountancy-related study abroad.
  • Complete the application on ScholarshipUniverse, WMU’s scholarship matching tool. More information on the application process is available on the WMU accountancy website.
  • The Dr. L Study Abroad Scholarship was established in 2023 by Dr. Karen Lancendorfer to support students wishing to participate in study abroad.
  • Complete the application on ScholarshipUniverse, WMU’s scholarship matching tool. More information on the application process is available on the WMU marketing website.
  • Business students who are also members of the Lee Honors College should consider applying for the study abroad scholarships listed on the Lee Honors College website.

When applying for study abroad programs and scholarships, assistance is available through the Global Business Center and the Haenicke Institute for Global Education.

  • If you are applying for a short-term, faculty-led study abroad program, please complete the program and scholarship applications in Broncos Abroad. Contact the WMU Study Abroad office for assistance with the application process. 

  • If you are applying for a semester-long study abroad program, please schedule appointments with both the Global Business Center and the WMU study abroad office for assistance with the application process.
