Dr. Irma Lopez

Dr. Irma López is a professor in the Department of Spanish and dean of the Lee Honors College.

She has authored three books:

• Historia, escritura e identidad: La novelística de María Luisa Puga

• Confluencias y demarcaciones: la novela mexicana, 1998-2008

• Extraño no-amor el tuyo: María Luisa Puga, historia de una pasión

She also published articles and papers on the work of Rosario Ferré, Carlos Fuentes, Mayra Montero, Elena Poniatowska, Sara Sefchovich and others. López's area of concentration is Latin American literature with special emphasis in Mexican literature and Latin American women's fiction.
