Dean's Wish List

Listed below are the current funding needs to support innovative programming and unique educational opportunities within the Lee Honors College at Western Michigan University. To make a gift securely online, please visit wmualumni.org.

Dean's discretionary fund: This fund provides support for special projects, unmet scholarship needs and innovative new initiatives under the direction of the dean. Support this fund.

Study in the States: This is a signature program of the Lee Honors College. All expenses except tuition are covered for every student who participates. Students travel with a faculty expert for one to two weeks of intense, place-based study. Additional funding will enable more students to benefit from a greater variety of courses. Support this fund.

Study Abroad Scholarships: Honors students are strongly encouraged to study abroad so that they can become more engaged global citizens. Many honors students cannot study abroad due to the costs associated with travel and living expenses. Additional funding will help offset the costs of these transformative study experiences for deserving honors students. Support this fund.

Conference Presentation Scholarships: Honors students are strongly encouraged to present their original research and creative work at national and international conferences and professional venues. Funds are needed to help offset the costs of travel to conferences, registration fees and lodging. Support this fund.

The Michael Goodwin Financial Assistance Fund: The Michael Goodwin Financial Assistance Fund supports students of the Lee Honors College who require additional financial support due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. medical bills, transportation or other emergency expenses that fall outside the official WMU estimated cost of assistance). Support this fund.

Medallion Scholarships: The Medallion Scholarship is the most prestigious merit-based scholarship sponsored by WMU. As college costs continue to rise, additional funds are needed to increase the size of current Medallion Scholarships and to create new named Medallion Scholarships to fund more of the many meritorious Medallion Scholarship competitors. Support this fund.
