Online Applicant Tracking System - Human Resources Training

This Human Resources session will focus on WMU’s Online Applicant Tracking System, which was designed to meet our institution’s unique hiring needs. This training will include an overview of the system’s talent recruitment, postings, and the hiring process. The outcome is to help hiring agents understand the applicant tracking system.

Hiring Process - Human Resources Training

This Human Resources session focuses on the hiring process. The training is geared towards supervisors, managers and those responsible for the hiring process in their department.  The training includes information about posting, interviewing, selecting candidates, and what information and steps to follow for making a hire that requires the immigration process.

Leaves of Absence - Human Resources Training

This Human Resources session focuses on leaves of absence information. A leave of absence is a way for employees who are experiencing circumstances that require to take approved time off from work. The training will provide information about WMU’s different leaves of absence, applying for a leave, and types of leaves and paid leaves and unpaid leaves, such as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The FMLA PeopleSoft Panel will also be discussed. The outcome is to help employees, managers and supervisors better understand the University’s leave options.

Performance Management - Human Resources Training

This Human Resources session focuses on performance management. The training includes information about WMU’s performance management system, timeline, setting goals and objectives, writing SMART goals, providing feedback, rating scales, planning and conducting year-end performance reviews. The outcome is to help employees, managers and supervisors with the performance management process and to boost employee and supervisor engagement.
