U.S. strategies in East Asia topic of Jan. 31 talk
The potential impact of the United States' strategies in East Asia will be outlined in a talk by Dr. Ling Wei at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, in Room 2028 of Brown Hall on the campus of Western Michigan University.
Wei's presentation, "Rebalancing or Debalancing: The U.S. Strategies and New Asian Order," is open to the public free of charge.
Wei is a professor of international studies and director of the East Asian Studies Center at the China Foreign Affairs University in Beijing. She is a 2012-13 Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Cornell University. She is the Chinese contact for the Network of East Asian Think-Tanks and is on the editorial board of Foreign Affairs Review (Waijiao Pinglun). She has served as a visiting scholar at Oakland University in Michigan and the French Institute of International Relations. Her research interests include international relations theory and East Asian regionalism. Wei holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from CFAU.
