WMU nets $140,000-plus in energy savings during holiday closure
After WMU's eight-day winter recess came to an end Thursday, Jan. 2, officials estimated the final tally of energy savings during the period to be more than $140,000.
Lonnie E. Duncan obituary
Dr. Lonnie E. Duncan, WMU associate professor of counselor education and counseling psychology, died suddenly Dec. 31. He was 46. A visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 5, with a memorial service set for Monday, Jan. 6.
Final East Campus configuration will preserve core of East Hall only
WMU officials have made a final decision to focus renovation only on the original core of East Hall, setting the design parameters for the new alumni center. Construction expected to be complete by summer 2015.
Local chocolatier to speak as part of Entrepreneurship Forum
Dale Anderson, owner of Confections with Convictions, a Kalamazoo-based artisanal chocolate store dedicated to hiring young workers with criminal records, will speak at 8 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10, in 2150 Schneider Hall.
