Western Michigan University is now offering a bachelor’s degree in event management beginning fall 2023. The core of the program will focus on event ideation, program design, technology, execution management, budgeting and community engagement and is experientially based with both in-class and off-campus learning. Students will interact with professionals in the fields of event management, utilizing service learning and getting class credit while working in the field. This includes the planning and execution of local events such as popups, catering, conventions and exposition management.

Western Michigan University's Cold Case Program assisted the Michigan State Police and Three Rivers Police Department in solving the 1988 murder of Cathy Swartz.

Western planted three new trees near Haenicke Hall on Friday, April 28, during an Arbor Day Celebration on campus.

Special events include the Mostly Medieval Theatre Festival, a performance festival showcasing the global heritage of drama, music, dance and performance styles from late antiquity through the Renaissance.
