Students explore job, internship opportunities at 2023 fall career fairs

KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Michigan University is connecting students and recent graduates who are pursuing jobs and internships in a wide variety of fields with hiring employers at the fall 2023 lineup of career fairs, including for the business, engineering, information technology and health care fields.

Primarily in person, fairs begin Wednesday, Sept. 20, and wrap up with a specialty job fair Thursday, Nov. 9.

Engineering Expo

Sept. 20, 1 to 4:30 p.m. at Floyd Hall on Western’s Parkview Campus
Employers will meet WMU students from the 14 ABET-accredited engineering and applied sciences concentrations as well as related majors in aviation and business. Graduate and Professional School Fair

Oct. 4, 3 to 6 p.m. in the lobby of Miller Auditorium

Finance Career Night

Oct. 5, 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Fetzer Center

This specialty job fair is for employers who seek to hire students for internships or full-time opportunities in the biomedical, environmental, laboratory, pharmaceutical, research and sustainable brewing industries. Contact

In addition to connecting at campus career fairs in the fall and spring, representatives from Career and Student Employment Services and the Zhang Career Center have conversations with hundreds of employers about their hiring needs that lead to thousands of full- and part-time internships and jobs posted to the online career site Handshake.

Job seekers attending any of the fall fairs should research employers in advance and have updated resumes available.
