Several Western Michigan University and Irving S. Gilmore School of Music alumni are celebrating after being honored at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards on February 2, 2025.

WMU digital marketing students create influencer campaigns for Disney’s The Lion King

Western Michigan University digital marketing students are partnering with Miller Auditorium to promote Disney’s The Lion King to other WMU students through social media. As part of a pilot “student influencer program,” students are generating engaging content to encourage attendance at the show while also communicating the university-subsidized 50% student discount that applies to many of Miller Auditorium’s shows. 

Film major takes passion, career to Cannes Film Festival with WMU Study Abroad

With the assistance of the Haenicke Institute for Global Education, Sean Knowles, an undergraduate student at WMU, travelled to France in February for a semester abroad in the seaside town of Cannes.  There, he will study French culture and communication while also completing an internship at what has become one of the most recognized film events in the world: The Cannes Film Festival.

Morgan Robertson is taking big shots at Western Michigan University. The senior marketing and sport management student is taking her skills from the classroom to the court, as she interned with the Detroit Pistons this past summer.
