Broncos charge into Homecoming 2024
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Broncos are back in the saddle to cheer on the Western Michigan University football team and dive into the excitement of homecoming and Family Weekend, happening Friday through Sunday, Oct. 25-27. From thrilling football action to fun-filled family events, activities are planned to reunite Broncos, relive the campus spirit and build camaraderie and Bronco pride.
Students kick off the excitement with Spirit Week Oct. 21-25, which includes events like tailgating, a flag football tournament and mini pumpkin give-away to build up energy leading into the big weekend.
In addition to all the lively events planned for students, families and alumni are invited to take part in homecoming festivities. Family Weekend events, including campus tours, a family dinner and pumpkin painting culminate with the homecoming parade and the highly anticipated homecoming game against Kent State at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Waldo Stadium.
“It’s a perfect opportunity for students to share their campus experience with their loved ones and celebrate Bronco pride together,” says Dr. Reetha Raveendran, associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students.
“Families and friends are such an integral part of our students’ lives, especially when they are here at WMU. Family Weekend is one way to not only appreciate them but also provide our students the opportunity to share their new community and new sense of belonging with their loved ones.”
