    Expressive Art Workshop

    Date: Friday, Feb. 24, 2023
    MLK Academy and Kalamazoo Promise Time and Location: 11 a.m. in 3520 Sangren Hall
    CAMP Time and Location: 1 p.m. in 1720 Sangren Hall
    A 60-minute workshop for students interested in learning how art can help reduce stress, encourage self-awareness, and increase wellbeing through doing an actual healing art project during the workshop. This workhop is hosted by the Mentoring for Success Program and the Office of Health Promotion and Education. Please register with our program before attending the workshop, if you have not already registered this academic year.

    • Mondays and Tuesdays from from 1 to 3 p.m. in Lower-Level Bernhard Center
    • Wednesday and Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. in 1710 Sangren Hall

    Description: Open study hours for all CAMP participants. Please register here before attending your first session. Mentoring for Success Program academic mentors will be available to provide tutoring and answer questions. At the end of the semester, a $25 or $50 WMU Bookstore gift card will be awarded to the participants with the highest attendance. 

    Michigan GEAR UP Tutoring

    Tutoring services provided to select middle and high schools by Mentoring for Success Program academic mentors. Please check out the Michigan GEAR UP Program's website for more information.

    Scholarship Writing Workshops

    Please register here before attending your first session, if you have not already registered with the Mentoring for Success Program this academic year.

    College Assistance Migrant Program

    A series of four, 60-minute workshops for CAMP participants that will start with an overview on how to apply for educational funding. The workshop series will introduce types of funding sources, communication etiquette, scholarship writing tips, and organizing and planning skills.

    Each workshop will have a distinct objective, information, and activities. Students are encouraged to attend all four workshops to gain a full understanding on how to apply for educational funding.

    • Friday, Nov. 18, at 1 p.m., in 1710 Sangren Hall

    Martin Luther King Jr. Student Scholars Program and Kalamazoo Promise Scholarship

    A 60-minute workshop for MLK Scholars and Kalamazoo Promise Scholarship recipients to give an overview on how to apply for educational funding.
