Business Operations
Business Operations supports Academic Affairs business managers and departmental partners by providing clear guidance, templates, and required documentation related to academic staffing and appointments.
This section brings together hiring procedures, forms, and reference materials used throughout the academic appointment lifecycle. Content is organized by appointment type to help you quickly find what you need and understand the appropriate steps, approvals, and points of coordination:
- Faculty: Full-time
- Faculty: Part-time
- Other appointments (adjunct, affiliate, visiting professors, emeriti, and senior administrative officers)
Your Business Operations Partners
Business managers work closely with designated partners in the Provost’s Office to coordinate academic staffing actions. These partners serve as primary points of contact for guidance, review, and approval throughout the hiring and appointment process. Work with your designated partner to ensure processes move forward efficiently and in compliance with university requirements.

Equity and Implicit Bias Training for Administrative Searches
The Equity and Implicit Bias Training for Faculty and Administrative Searches Policy requires that all members of academic affairs faculty and administrative search committees complete implicit bias training prior to starting a search process. To support these efforts and our commitment to promote a diverse, equitable and inclusive University culture, Academic Affairs will host a series of implicit bias trainings throughout the year. Upon finding a date that works for you, register for the event using our online registration.
