Engaging Our Workforce

Improving the morale of our employees—and the overall campus climate—remains a top priority. The honest responses collected via the employee engagement survey earlier this year have provided clear guidance for strengthening the university’s culture and a benchmark for which we can measure progress in the future.

Those data have been shared with the leaders of each academic affairs unit, and plans for addressing key improvement areas are being developed and carried out by each dean or associate provost.

Furthermore, the President’s Cabinet continues to prioritize this critical task and is consistently working to develop strategies for advancing the university’s mission and creating an empowered workforce. Cabinet members hosted two employee engagement forums in September and October, where members of the campus community were invited to ask questions, provide insight, and begin formulating an action plan to address the key findings. Regular updates are available at the employee engagement website.

This process is nonlinear and continuous; thus, it requires regular attention and participation. Please continue to share your thoughts and opinions on how we can work collaboratively to create a renewed and positive campus culture.
