Staying Connected
One of my sanity savers during this time has been getting together with my fellow Staff either via Zoom or text. We have laughed and cried (both sorely needed), shared how to set up a home office quickly (or not), shared links that we may have forgotten, etc. I have taken to walking with a neighbor (with proper SD) twice a day around my neighborhood, just like we did at CEAS. It isn’t the same, but it keeps some normalcy in my life. My biggest take-away would be to stay in communication with fellow co-workers in all ways. Once we start to disconnect, it is easier to stay that way. Also, on a personal note, anytime I start to get down or my thoughts wander in a negative fashion I have a positive thought that I can replace it with. My faith has been a lifesaver as well, as I am sure it is for people of all faiths. I have personally memorized bible verses that help and have a desk calendar (thankfully I remembered to bring home) with daily verses.
Knowing that my Chair, faculty and CEAS cares is wonderful.
