While higher education has many individual and social benefits, one that stands foremost in the minds of many prospective students and their parents is its direct impact on their employability. But Dell Technologies estimates that 85% of the jobs that will be needed in 2030 don’t even exist yet. Just 10 years ago, people did not pursue jobs managing social media, they did not aspire to develop virtual reality tools or use 3D printing technology in the workplace or to operate drones for geological or environmental or even package delivery purposes.

Corporate Pilot Dan Homolek - Giving Back by Going Back

Understanding this, Dan reached way back into his networking bag and pulled out the ultimate trump card: a former neighbor from his younger days. After graduating WMU, Dan was ready to begin the next part of his journey. Not leaving any stone unturned, Homolek began the job search. With a job opportunity pending at the airlines, Dan’s gamble paid off. Contacting the former neighbor, Dan took a chance. Although he hadn’t seen this person for many years, the connection paid off.

About the Park
Business Technology and Research Park
Biosciences Research and Commercialization Center at WMU, which provides commercialization expertise, research support and funding to emerging life sciences ventures. Companies More than 40 private-sector businesses have been attracted to the BTR Park. Over 1,400 direct and indirect jobs have been retained and or created. Of these businesses, eight have constructed their own facilities in the BTR Park. A number of these buildings house multiple tenants.
