Regional Language Testing Center

Western Michigan University’s College of Education and Human Development is proud to serve as a regional world language testing center for students and community members pursuing the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy.

As part of our commitment to supporting language learning, cultural understanding, and educational opportunity across the region, we are pleased to offer on-campus world language testing services for the greater community. Our goal is to make the testing process more accessible, organized, and supportive for schools, districts, families, and partner organizations.

We welcome opportunities to partner with public and private schools, school districts, community organizations, and other interested groups by offering to manage the test administration process at our campus. Through this service, WMU’s College of Education and Human Development can help coordinate testing logistics, provide a professional and welcoming testing environment, and support students as they work toward earning recognition for their bilingual and multilingual skills.

By serving as a regional testing center, we aim to reduce administrative barriers for schools and organizations while expanding access for students who wish to demonstrate proficiency in a world language. The Michigan Seal of Biliteracy is an important recognition of students’ language abilities, cultural competency, and readiness to engage in an increasingly interconnected world.

We look forward to collaborating with educational and community partners to support students in achieving this meaningful distinction and to celebrate the value of multilingualism throughout our region.
