McGinnis Reading Center tutors find success after graduation

Jan. 22, 2016
Five former McGinnis Reading Center literacy tutors graduated from the university in December 2015. Each of one of them has been hired to work as classroom teachers or reading/writing interventionists.
Congratulations to Allison Bracken, 2nd grade, Washington Writers' Academy (Kalamazoo Public Schools); Amelia Cigelski-Reading Interventionist, Prairie Ridge Elementary (Kalamazoo Public Schools); Sara Merrils-Kindergarten, Northeastern Elementary (Kalamazoo Public Schools); Rebecca Moore-Writing Interventionist, Washington Writers' Academy (Kalamazoo Public Schools); Sabrina Schillers-Reading Interventionist, Lanigan Elementary (Farmington Hills Public Schools).
Each of these students successfully worked with the McGinnis Reading Center to provide support to struggling readers (K-8) from local area schools/programs.
