Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology Master Faculty Specialist Sandra Glista is the head of the Aphasia Communication Enhancement Program at the Unified Clinic’s Charles Van Riper Language, Speech, and Hearing Clinic and a recognized expert in best-practice and therapy related to aphasia.

Glista is also a strong proponent of Life Participation Approach to Aphasia and is among the leaders in the field who are founding AphasiaAccess, a new association which aims to grow a network of health care, education, business and community leaders to advance lifelong communication access for people with aphasia—a loss of speaking, reading, writing, and sometimes comprehending language.

On March 13 and 14, 2015 at Boston University, Glista will join a cross-section of aphasia healthcare professionals, educators, researchers and program directors to share models in Life Participation Approach to Aphasia programming, research and outcomes at the AphasiaAccess Inaugural Leadership Summit.
