Study Abroad Application Agreements

Western Michigan University students are required to read and to affirm their understanding of the following documents as part of the application process to participate in study or intern abroad. Students are also required to provide at least two emergency contacts.

In compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, a student must authorize WMU or the Study Abroad office to discuss any information about him/her with any person, including for emergency situations. Students are required to designate a primary and a secondary emergency contact person. The Study Abroad office recommends that parents discuss with their son or daughter whom they should name on the FERPA authorization form.
