Spring 2024 Events

Below are the TRIO events that will all offer credit this spring semester. If you are interested in attending an event, please first check to see if a Travel Application or an RSVP is required. Also, as we take photos at events, we will start to add them to the album for this year. Please follow us on IG if you would like to see your photo posted. Other events may be added as the semester starts so be sure to check back here or on social media.

  • Painting Night

    Date: 1/17/2024

    Time: 6pm - 8:30pm

    Location: Student Center - Pub

    Short Description: Students can come paint on canvases to decorate their rooms with, or give as gifts. Please RSVP so we know how many canvases to purchase. 

  • Family-Food

    Date: 1/24/2024

    Time: 6pm - 8pm

    Location: Student Center - 2209

    Short Description: Come join in a game of Family Feud between TRIO FESP and TRIO SSP to see who will win the "Goat Trophy". Food will also be provided during the event. Please RSVP so we know how much food to bring. 

  • GVSU Grad School Trip

    Short Description: We will be touring GVSU for the Grad School Tour. GVSU is known for their graduate nursing, physical therapy, and public administration programs. Dinner will be provided. Please use the Travel Application to apply for this trip. 

  • TRIO Day Celebration & Pancakes

    Short Description: Come enjoy pancakes and other breakfast items made fresh for all TRIO Students to celebrate TRIO DAY! 

  • Bracelet and Card Making

    Date: 2/14/2024

    Time: 10am - 1pm

    Location: TRIO SSP Work Room, Ellsworth Hall

    Short Description: Create friendship bracelets and valentine cards for valentine's day. Candy and other treats provided.

  • MI-CAPP Student Leadership Summit Trip

    Short Description: The MI-CAPP Student Leadership Summit is an opportunity for TRIO students to present on various topics to other students and build their leadership skills. For more information, check out the MI-CAPP website. Please complete the Travel Application to attend this trip. 

  • Wayne State Grad Trip & Detroit Tour

    Short Description: We will be touring Wayne State University for the second Grad School Tour of the spring. Wayne State is known for many of the graduate programs including nursing, engineering, law, and their med-school. This trip will be overnight and take place during the first few days of spring break. Students that are looking to do a little traveling during spring break can look forward to having some fun experiencing Downtown Detroit as well. Complete the Travel Application to attend. 

  • Washington DC Policy Conference

    Short Description: This trip will take place in Washington DC. Students attending this trip can expect to attend a policy conference and learn about the nation's capital, as well as see many sights. More information will be sent out to students attending this trip. Complete the Travel Application to attend. 

  • Etiquette Luncheon

    Date: 3/22/2024

    Time: 3pm - 5:30pm

    Location: Student Center - 2209-2211

    Event Type: RSVP

    Short Description: This lunch is meant to be a high-end experience where students can learn about etiquette. Students should expect to learn about manners, business etiquette, and how to handle certain situations while networking at meals. Students will have the opportunity to meet various WMU staff, take headshots, and eat a good meal. This event is required by all first year students taking UNIV 1030 and is open to any other TRIO students interested in attending. 

  • High Rope Leadership Adventure

    Short Description: We will be heading to Pretty Lake Camp to do a high ropes course. Students should expect to be physically challenged and learn more about their leadership styles. Complete the RSVP form to attend.

  • U of M Grad School Trip

    Date: 4/12/2024

    Time: 12pm - 6:30pm

    Short Description: Our final grad tour this spring we'll be visiting U of M for some of their graduate programs. The University of Michigan is arguably one of the best graduate schools in the nation ranking in the top ten for programs like education, public policy, engineering, business, and nursing. Dinner will be provided. Please use the Travel Application to apply for this trip. 

  • Spring Graduation Banquet

    Date: 4/23/2024

    Time: 6pm - 9pm

    Location: Student Center - Ballroom A

    Event Type: RSVP (special)

    Short Description: This will be the Graduation Celebration for all TRIO students graduating in the spring 2024 semester. Dinner will be provided. A separate RSVP will be sent out to students that are graduating. Only graduating students will be invited but they are allowed to bring guests.
