Giving
Donations to the WMU trombone studio have a major impact both on the success of the program and on student learning. WMU trombone students are highly active. They attend summer conferences and conventions, and they frequently appear as finalists at national and international competitions. This level of activity requires significant funding. For example, trombone studio donations often go to support projects such as:
- Student travel to the American Trombone Workshop or International Trombone Festival
- Student recording session accompanist fees
- Commissions for the WMU trombone choir
- Purchasing suitable recording equipment for competition recordings
- Costs to support campus visits by renowned guest trombone artists
Would you like to make a significant impact? Some of the top trombone students in the country audition for the trombone studio at Western each year, and unfortunately they are often unable to attend Western due to larger scholarship offers elsewhere. Therefore, scholarship donations to the trombone studio make a huge difference in the quality of the program.
Please consider donating to the WMU trombone studio. In these days of major budget cuts, your gift is greatly needed. The link below will take you to the "Giving" page. Once there, check the box indicating that your gift will go to the Irving S. Gilmore School of Music. But then in the box on the bottom right ("Would you like to provide additional information or special instructions about your gift?"), be sure to note that your gift should go to the WMU trombone studio. And if you want your gift to be directed to a specific use within the trombone studio (general use, scholarships, etc), be sure to indicate this.
