Participate in Movement Matters

  • Create a team of 2-4 people
  • Register at wmich.edu/wellness/fallmovementmatters from Oct. 23 to Nov. 11.
  • Swim, yoga, walk, run, yard work, fitness classes, lifting, play with kids, etc. Must be moderately strenuous activity.
  • Track your points daily. Maximum 4 points per day. (1 point per 10 minutes of activity).

 

Scoring

Accumulate points for physical activity sessions of at least 10 continuous minutes.  These sessions must be intentional movement Not minutes from activity tracker.  The movement should feel somewhat strenuous at a minimum.  Activities could include running, raking, yoga, swimming, yard work, team sports, fitness classes, lifting, playing with kids or walking briskly to a meeting.

10 minutes = 1 point

20 minutes = 2 points

30 minutes = 3 points

40 minutes = 4 points

 

Prizes 

  • Individual: to be determined
  • Team: The team with the most points will be awarded $15 Dining Dollars per person.
  • Attend the WMU Turkey Trot, Nov. 23, to be entered into a drawing for prizes.
  • Turkey Trot walk/run groups will be available for participants to join.

Captains, please complete the Weekly Team Scorecard to submit your scores for the Movement Matters Challenge. Weekly totals must be submitted by 5 p.m. on the following Monday after each week concludes.
