Students are encouraged to conduct extensive scholarship research to identify all scholarships that are applicable to their planned program of study. In many cases, WMU students receive more than one scholarship award to help fund this life-changing experience.

Haenicke Institute For Global Education Study Abroad Scholarship

  • Supports WMU faculty-led short-term courses.

President's Grant for Study Abroad

  • Supports intensive foreign language study for semester or academic year.

Global Engagement Scholarship

  • Supports foreign language study combined with other subjects for semester or academic year

Bruce W. Mesara Study Abroad Airfare Scholarship

  •  Provides partial funding for airfare to select Pell-grant eligible students.

Global Ambassadors Competition and Scholarship

  •  Provides funding for study abroad for first-time, full-time incoming freshman
