Transcripts

Transcripts can be sent from the issuing institution to WMU in several ways:

  • Common Application: For first-year students only, submitting application materials electronically through Common Application is the preferred and most efficient method.
  • Electronic: Transcripts can be submitted electronically by the issuing institution through a credentialing service such as Parchment, Naviance, or National Clearinghouse. To be considered official, transcripts must be sent directly from the issuing institution to our office.
  • Mail: Transcripts can be mailed to: Office of Admissions, Western Michigan University, 1903 W Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49008-5211. Transcripts need to be enclosed in an official school envelope and include an authorized signature across the seal.
  • Hand-delivered: Obtain an official copy of your transcript in a sealed envelope and bring it to the Office of Admissions desk in the WMU Student Center on the main campus. Transcripts need to be enclosed in an official school envelope and include an authorized signature across the seal.

College transcripts must be received within 90 days of the print date on the transcript to be considered official. If you mail your materials, you may wish to have them sent through a mail service that provides delivery confirmation or a receipt showing that WMU received them (but this is not required).

Test Scores

  • Scores can be sent directly from ACT or College Board. Western Michigan University's codes are 2066 for ACT and 1902 for SAT.
  • Scores can be printed directly on your official high school transcript.
  • Score reports generated by a testing entity can be mailed, emailed or hand-delivered. Follow the instructions laid out in the transcript section above for more information.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at (269) 387-2000. You may check your Gold Gateway account to verify receipt of your required materials.
