A well-dressed African-American graduate student surveys the Kalamazoo valley as it spreads out below him from his vantage point at Heritage Hall on the top of Prospect Hill. Behind him fluffy little white clouds dot the vibrant blue sky. He smiles and perhaps is looking towards the brighter future that he has earned by investing in his own graduate education at Western Michigan University.
