    STUDIO REQUEST FORM

  2. You will receive a confirmation email from @email.  Your studio is not reserved until you receive a confirmation email from our staff.  If you have any questions please email @email.
  3. Studio Access
    1. Business hours (Monday-Friday 9am-4pm): stop by the Main Dance Office and a staff member will let you in to your reserved studio.
    2. After hours studio use: a studio reservation after hours does not guarantee access. Dance faculty or staff will not come to campus to let you in!  Consider the following options for after-hours access:
      • Piggy-back: make your reservation immediately following an already scheduled class or rehearsal. It is your responsibility to be in the studio before the end of the class or faculty rehearsal to obtain entrance to the studio. Do not interrupt a faculty rehearsal to be let in to a studio!
      • Dance RSO presidents have studio keys: is your reservation connected to the work of a Dance RSO?  Contact your RSO president to arrange access.
      • Swipe Access to Dunbar: the following students have been given swipe access to the Dunbar Dance Studio during Dunbar Building Hours (8am-10pm).
        • Seniors completing either their BA Capstone on BFA Graduating Presentation
        • Students registered for any choreography class: DANC1800, DANC2800, DANC3800
        • Dance RSO Leadership, typically the president and vice president
        • Student rehearsal directors or rehearsal assistants for faculty/guest artist works
        • CFA Student Ambassadors (tour guides)

Bring your own Bluetooth Speaker!  Studio sound equipment is NOT available for student use

YOUR RESERVATION COULD BE CHANGED

If a conflict arises you will get an email from @email.  Your reservation could be moved, a time modification offered, or it may be cancelled.

Please note that priority for studio requests are considered in the following order.

  1. Guest artist residencies
  2. Dance faculty and guest artist rehearsals
  3. Studio rentals with community partners
  4. Student rehearsals for required choreographic projects associated with the curriculum (GPs, Capstones, Junior Juries, etc.)
  5. Dance RSO activities
  6. Dance major student requests
  7. All other requests

SECURE THE STUDIO WHEN YOU LEAVE

It is your responsibility to close all doors and turn off lights. Do NOT leave the door propped open if the next scheduled person has not arrived.

YOU CAN LOOSE STUDIO PRIVELEDGES

Access to the dance studios is a privilege and studio privileges may be revoked to an individual or RSO for any of the following reasons:

  • Failure to secure the room and turn off the lights
  • Failure to cancel a reservation when you do not plan to use it
  • Unauthorized use of the space and/or equipment
  • Avoidable damage to dance equipment or facilities

STUDIO USE RULES:

  1. No street shoes!  Bare feet, socks, dance shoes, or studio-only shoes. Tap shoes may only be used in Studio C.
  2. No food or beverages (other than water in sealed container) are allowed in any studio.
  3. No glass containers in studios or locker room
  4. There are no trash bins in the studios. Trash must be placed in the large barrels in the main hallway or locker rooms

As a final note - hundreds of people use our studios every day.  These spaces are essential to the important work we do as dancers.  It is all our responsibilities to keep these spaces clean and to respect everyone working in them.
