Accessible procurement

Before buying or renewing any software, platform or other Information Communications Technology (ICT), WMU units must route the purchase through the Technology Compliance Review Process to evaluate accessibility and security.

Vendors are expected to provide a current Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR/VPAT). Their products are reviewed against WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, and when gaps exist, an Equally Effective Alternative Access Plan may be required. Accessibility is a condition of purchase and must be maintained throughout the contract term; coordinate vendor testing with WMU’s Digital Accessibility Team.

Vendors and units acquiring ICT must ensure accessibility is evaluated during procurement and maintained throughout the contract term.

  • Provide a current Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR/VPAT).
  • Identify gaps and remediation timelines in agreements.
  • Coordinate vendor testing with WMU’s Digital Accessibility Office.
  • Accessible procurement guidance
