International Festival Fall 2023

Posted by Ian M Magnuson for Haenicke Institute for Global Education

International Festival is a showcase of the diversity of the student body at WMU. Students from around the world share their cultures, fashions and food with the Kalamazoo community.

A popular event since 1989, the International Festival has taken attendees on a trip around the world—without leaving Michigan—to enjoy some of the music, foods, fashions and traditional dances of manycultures. The annual event has provided thousands of students and community members the chance to experience food, culture and fashion from around the world through booth displays and performances brought to life by WMU international and cultural RSO’s.

The International Festival is organized by the Haenicke Institute for Global Education and often involves partnerships with other organizations on campus.

We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, October 15th from 2:00-6:00pm in Miller Auditorium! The event is free to attend and open to the public. Attendees will have the chance to purchase international foods provided by fantastic local vendors including Hillside Indian Cuisine, Pacific Rim Foods, Que Buenos and Drake Road Shawarma King.
